Located in Chapelle-Heulin, a town in the center of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine vineyards, the Domaine Basse-Ville is today one of the most important in this town. Winemaker Jean-Louis Bossard produces Muscadet Sèvre et Maine as well as Gros-Plant, and bottles it on lees, for these two appellations of origin. The soil is silico-clay and gravel in a subsoil of schists, gneiss and granite, typical terroirs of the Sèvre & Maine region. Very attached to this terroir, the Bossard family has been cultivating the vines from father to son since the 16th century. The family’s goal is to fully express the terroirs, this is why only indigenous yeasts ensure the fermentation and further affirm the subtlety of their terroirs. Vinification takes place at controlled temperatures, exclusively in glass vats or stainless steel vats. The wines thus obtained are stored on lees at 8-10 ° and are bottled at the peak of their development. Tradition combined with cutting-edge technology allows their customers an elegant Muscadet with aromas of vanilla and dried fruits, much appreciated by connoisseurs. Numerous medals at the various regional and national competitions attest to the high quality level of our production.
